Be flexible and patient! This sounds simple, but if there is one thing I've learned about week one already, it is that CHANGE is going to come at new teachers from every direction! Guidance, administration, fellow teachers, parents, and even students may want to switch things up. So I have resisted the urge to be my natural teacher-organized-control-freak-self and instead, rolled with the punches. :)

Yeah I hear ya, Colbie. Those first few days were pretty stressful and I was pretty much exhausted by yesterday. Hopefully once we get into a routine we can go back to our control-freak selves...

Hi,

Colbi, I'm glad you're a salmon swimming downstream!

Eric, I'm glad you're thinking about routines! Yes, as soon as you get to see your kids regularly, things will even out, and you'll feel more productive.

These feelings are not a bad thing to share with students. Rolling with the punches is a life skill!

Thanks for taking time to read and respond. Keep the feedback coming! ;)
