Meetings.... and more meetings...

Faculty and ILT (Instructional Leadership Team) Meetings

At JMB, faculty meetings are held once per month for 30 minutes and usually deal with procedural kinds of information.  Afterwards, ILT sub-committees break away and tend to their own agendas.  These Instructional Leadership Team committees are in place to work on the goals set forth in our school's Master Plan (found in your handbook).  Every school has a Master Plan that is approved by leaders at the Central Office.  Please plan to attend these meetings as best you can.  If you need to miss, due to a class or other matter, let your committee head and principal know.  The dates for these meetings are in your handbook.

Some of you may want to pursue school leadership in the future.  Committees are a great place to develop your skills!

PLC (Professional Learning Community) Meeting

Wicomico County adopted a PLC model to involve teachers in their own professional development.  These content-based meetings address content issues; goals are set, and strategies are developed.  Teachers collaborate, share data and expertise, and try new things together.  Your PLC will meet once per month (dates found in handbook). Attendance is taken at these meetings, as well.
